Ian’s Pre-Season Rugby Training

Ian came to me for programming for his rugby and today he started his 2nd pre-season block which now has an emphasis on power and strength:
– Snatch
3×3 60kg
– Back squat
5×4 130kg
– Bench press (paused 1st rep)
5×4 100kg
– Stiff legged deadlift
5×6 70kg
– Ab wheel rollout
3×4

We plan to retest his 1 rep maxes in a few weeks and it’s looking promising so far considering his already performing reps on his old maxes
